Let’s forget for a minute that it isn’t, which is a common retort to this argument.
‘You didn’t choose to be straight!’, ‘I wouldn’t choose to be shunned from society.’ etc.
Forget those counter-arguments for a second.
So fucking what if it was a choice?
What difference does that make?
I choose to do a bunch of other stuff.
I choose what clothes I wear, what colour my hair is, what music I listen to, and a great many other things.
So why would it matter if it was a choice whether I like people who happen to have been born with a penis or with a vagina?
We’re told that we have freedom of choice. I’m not going to pretend for a second that that’s true, but I will say that if we do have freedom of choice, why can people not choose the sexuality they want?
The world is full of hypocrites, I think is what I’m trying to say.
